On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of the Animal Shelter of Wood River Valley, we appreciate your interest in our Volunteer Program. The Shelter relies greatly on volunteer support to help maintain a quality of life for the animals during their stay at the shelter.
As a member of our Volunteer Organization, you become a representative of the shelter to the community. Therefore, it is essential that our volunteers understand the shelter's policies and procedures. We ask that you take the time to learn about the mission and history of our organization, as well as the many services it provides. Our animal handling guidelines must be followed for your safety as well as for the care and treatment of the animals.
As a volunteer, your input and suggestions are welcomed and taken into account, however, you will not be directly involved with any shelter decision making or policy changes. We value our volunteers and stress the importance of supporting a cause whose philosophies closely match your own. The board members and managers of The Animal Shelter of Wood River Valley are always available to answer questions or provide clarification regarding shelter policies and practices.
Each and every volunteer position directly affects the lives of all our shelter animals. Once you have volunteered, your heart will never be the same!
If your interested in a volunteer position please fill out an application here.
