The Animal Shelter of Wood River Valley relies heavily on donations from our community to provide support for all of our homeless animals. Every dollar of your tax deductible contribution directly benefits the animals in some way --- Whether providing the food that nourishes them, the heat that keeps them warm at night, or the medical treatment that so many animals require, your contributions are what make it all possible. 

The Marmaduke Society, described below, is structured for larger donations, however, the shelter welcomes donations of any and all amounts. We accept cash (in person), checks and credit cards. THE MARMADUKE SOCIETY

We invite you to be a Member of the Animal Shelter’s On-site Adoption Program. For those of you who find it hard to have a pet at home either for lifestyle limitations, medical reasons, or you’re already busting at the seams, adopt one of our canine or feline friends. We will house and care for their every need including regular medical and veterinary care, until we can find them a permanent home. You will receive a photo and biography of your friend upon sponsorship. You will also receive monthly letters from the Shelter management staff updating you on your pal and any special events, which he or she might have enjoyed that month. If your four-legged friend finds a permanent new home, we will notify you and send photos of a new Shelter adoptee.

The On-Site Adoption Program will be for a one-year period, commencing the first date of sponsorship.

Since our adult large canine population eat more, drink more, and require their own private kennel as well as special handling by the kennel staff, we call this our Marmaduke Society.

Our medium sized canine companions don’t eat quite as much, or require their own private kennel, so we have named this our Bengy Society.

Our special little dogs, who eat less and reside in our smaller kennels, are part of our Snoopy Society.

Last is our feline friend category who ask for lots of hugs and kisses from the staff, but otherwise eat a modest amount and are happy to co-habitate in our cat rooms. This is our Garfield Society.
