As the only animal shelter in Blaine County, the ASWRV faces the daunting task of finding appropriate, loving homes for the hundreds of animals that come through our doors annually.
In 2008, we placed 190 dogs and 203 cats in new homes! While we are proud of this accomplishment, nearly as many animals found themselves at the shelter last year. While our population is always in flux, keeping the shelter numbers manageable depends on more animal lovers coming in to adopt new pets. If you are looking for a new pet, please seriously consider getting one from the Shelter instead of buying from a breeder. These animals desperately need you! Download the Adoption Criteria and Application from this website and come by the Shelter to get to know our residents and find your new best friend.
